cat hepburn

jeans: Forever 21 // shoes, headband, + tee: Old Navy // similar sunnies // belt: Target
I'm so excited to finally share this outfit with y'all! I lusted after these jeans for a hot minute before rewarding myself with an online purchase. I first saw them over on Alyssa's blog and then included them in my January Wishlist. I've already worn them a handful of times, hoping for a photo op, but I'm glad I wasn't able to take photos until this really became an outfit. When I bought them, I knew I wanted to pair them with this scoop-back black top, but that's kind of obvious and not much of an outfit. Dago convinced me it looked better tucked-in after telling me I looked like Katherine Hepburn. *swoon* That boy is on his compliment game lately.

I loved the idea of running with a 40's era Katherine for this outfit, but not taking it too seriously since, well, these pants are polka-dotted. I've had this pair of Hello Kitty sunnies since a girls' trip to South Padre last summer, but haven't yet had an excuse to blog them. What better time than a perfectly pin-up style Cat Hepburn outfit? (Me-ow!)

So now that I've done the pink, black, & jade thing, I'm excited to find other ways to style these jeans. I'm trying to not fall into my predictable go-to chambray, but I'm a little lost on other top ideas. I'm hoping spring will inspire me.

How would you style my jeans? Are you going to run out and buy a pair of spotted cropped pants for yourself?

  1. I love those skinnies, the pop of pink, and that amaaaazing scoop-back shirt! I've gotta get myself one! :)

Tell Dago good job on the Katherine compliment, I'm not sure if Curtis even knows who she is..boo. But I will say, he does know Audrey, only because she's all over my apartment. ;)

  3. I think the right color red would look good, or a white button up, or grey. Maybe even skinny stripes, do some coordinated pattern clashing. Heels or wedges would pump it up a notch for a more polished/professional look. I absolutely adore this outfit. If I had thinner legs I would try a nice print like this, but I don't think it'd look good on me :(

  11. Ohh, being compared to Katherine Hepburn is like the best compliment because I feel like most people would default to Audrey or someone else. Katherine is definitely the best! Those jeans suit you so well and I really love it with that top. I'm thinking you could pair them pretty easily with almost any solid top since black and teal could both (almost) be neutral. Do you have a mustard top or cardigan??

(Full disclosure: I read your title super quick and totally thought it said "Cat Heartburn" and I felt bad for laughing... poor kitties and their indigestion.)
