first day of school

dress: Old Navy // shoes: Steve Madden // scarf: vintage from Prototype // necklace: gift Forever 21
No, I'm not in school again. I did realize, however, upon taking these photos, that I looked like I was headed to my first day of kindergarten. Why didn't anyone tell me I looked 4?? I guess people are really just used to me dressing like a child. Whoops.

Well, I bought this dress this weekend as an item for my big girl life. Luckily, I have some styling ideas in mind to adult it up a bit. Note to self: pink headscarves do not an adult make.

Speaking of the headscarf, I ventured to my favorite vintage shops on South Congress the other day for a little browsing of pretty things. Prototype Vintage Design has the best collection of scarves in town. I had such a hard time choosing just one! It's hard to tell in these photos, but the scarf is actually blue and pink, so it'll go with tons of stuff. Love that I finally figured out this easy hair style!

  5. This looks like a great "grown up" dress. Neutral, good length, can pair with variety of shoes and cardigans/jackets/jewelry/accessories. Plus, any work piece than you can dress down is a win-win. Good call!
