I got a little taste of what taking outfit photos this summer is going to be like when Briley and I went out to shoot these. It was hoooot, girlfriend. Hence my bangs look all a mess. It was a really, really cold winter here in Texas, but there are no signs that it's not going to be an equally hot summer. I guess that means more snow cones and pool time!

Is it weird that I didn't notice this outfit mixes patterns until I compared it to some of its predecessors? I've actually worn this outfit several times before the 30x30 because red, white, and blue is such a no-brainer combination in my closet. Who knew I was also rocking stars dots and stripes? (Okay, obviously everyone who saw me except me.) Does accidental patriotism still count?

Dago and I are off to see 1/3 of his BFFdom get hitched tomorrow in San Antonio. After much consideration, I've decided to wear my Valentine's outfit again (minus the heart headband, plus a cute mint clutch I picked up #colorblocking) because I loved it so much and it deserves as much appreciation as it can get. I bought that dress for such a good price and I want to show off my bargain skills almost as much as I want to show off its bright color and pretty detailing.

Do you have any big plans for this weekend?

  3. I'm super into the stripes and polka dots. I haven't been pattern mixing a ton lately, mostly because I think I don't fit in the clothes I really liked doing that with last summer, but it's a good luck. I actually don't think this outfit it too fourth of july or anything because you've got a denim jacket that doesn't fully recognize as blue because it's denim, a navy skirt, and lighter red stripes. I love how the shade of these pieces makes that red, white, and blue thing really fresh.
