closet costume: funny face

Halloween has always been one of my most favorite holidays (accompanied by Valentine's and Christmas, of course). However, I have a history of getting really excited for it at the beginning of the month and then not having any solid plans on Hallow's Eve.

One of the ways you can make sure to have an awesome Halloween is by choosing a costume from your own closet so you don't have to buy a bunch of things to put together your dream costume. This week I'm bringing you four closet costume ideas in case you need some last minute inspiration before the big day!

My first costume is from an iconic Audrey Hepburn flick--no, not Breakfast at Tiffany's--Funny Face! The fashionably inclined love costumes that call back to some of their favorite dressers from movies, especially Hepburn looks. Funny Face is great option because it uses the same pieces you used for last year's cat costume: cropped black pants, long-sleeved black shirt, black flats. Add a ponytail and some fun dance moves and you've got yourself a Halloween costume without spending a buck!

Stay tuned for more Halloween costume inspiration from your own closet!

  1. My first thought: oh, I was a cat this year because all I needed was my closet & makeup. Next year, I can just do this and it's different but the same clothes! Brilliant!

  2. Love this idea! I usually like to put together Halloween costumes from thrift stores and things out of my own closet, but Larry told me we had Halloween plans a whole 2 weeks before Halloween, so I didn't have time to be creative :( .... ok well actually I had THE cutest idea for us to be Doug and Patti Mayonaise, but MR. BORING (aka my husband) didn't want to dress up as Doug and thought that no one would know who we were and it wouldnt be "cool". LAME.
    But you're adorable as always.

  5. This is SUCH a cute costume idea! I'd actually probably wear this on any normal day, because Audrey Hepburn has the best fashion sense in the history of ever. You look so good in those pants, girl!
