featured | on style blogging and body image

Hi y'all! I don't usually post on Thursdays, but I wanted to pop in today to share a special feature I wrote for an amazing site called Proud2BMe. The editor (who is about to retire the position and go to grad school!) reached out to me to write about my experience as a blogger who struggles with body image and disordered eating. At first I was like, um totally I'll write that! And then I found myself putting it off and avoiding it because, as it turns out, it was really difficult to write. I worked through a lot of stuff while writing this post and I'm so honored to have it featured on Proud2BMe!

You can check out the full feature here!

  1. I've always appreciated how open you are. Thanks!

  2. Hi Nicole,

I've been following your blog for a while now (although I'm usually too lazy to comment!) and I just wanted to thank you for being so open and honest about your body/how you think about your body. I so easily fall into that mindset of "I hate my stomach" or "I wish my arms looked like hers," and it makes me feel guilty, like I'm the only one, or like I'm a bad person for not loving all of my body, all the time. Thank you so much for standing up and admitting that sometimes you struggle, and sometimes that's okay. It makes me feel more comfortable with admitting that this is something I struggle with sometimes, too, and it sucks, but it doesn't make me a bad person.
It's so inspiring to see someone with such great style...but who doesn't pretend to be perfect all the time. Reading your blog makes me comfortable with who I am, instead of making me feel bad about my body, and I love that.
    Thank you so much. :)

  3. I'm excited to read this!
