THE SEARCH. IS. OVER!! 2016 might just be my luckiest shopping year yet: overalls, a Theory blouse, and now the perfect romper. I've known exactly what I was looking for in a romper for as long as I've loved them, but it seems no one is making them like this anymore. Being so short-waisted, I needed a high-waisted romper that fit like a fit and flare dress. Most rompers I see at Old Navy, Loft, Madewell, etc. have a pretty low waist, trying to fit like a pair of regular shorts with a blousy top attached. Being real, I haven't seen those be all that flattering on most people. This is a time when retailers would do themselves a solid by taking cues from vintage styles!

They always say you find The One when you stop looking. As I sifted through the color-coordinated racks at Charm School Vintage after brunch a few weekends ago, I certainly didn't expect to stumble into love with an old romper. But there it was, hanging in all its burgundy and floral glory. I almost didn't try it on, and then, even when I did, I didn't anticipate buying it. But I didn't want to take it off! So home with me it came.

This is easily the most comfortable article of clothing in my closet, and I wear it (at least) once a week. I am unbelievably stoked to wear it with tights in a month or so, and I think it'll look fab with the right leather jacket. Plus, I already know it looks great with my duster cardigan from last year, so stay tuned for that coming to a blog near you once the temperatures drop!
