It has taken me over a month to blog this outfit! I wore it to see Adele in concert with my babe Siena over at Our ATX (hence the blog title). I thought it would make a perfect holiday party outfit and really wanted to get it blogged ASAP. Chelsea and I actually shot this outfit once, but it was so absurdly windy that none of the photos were usable. Weeks later, here we are!

Hopefully you'll have a chance to recreate this outfit for at least one holiday party this year -- it's a good one! Ditch the dress this year and wear fabulous separates. Going straight from work to the party? Pair a similar necktie blouse with your usual office-approps bottoms (slacks, pencil skirt, or black jeans will do!) and shimmy into a fabulously full skirt (preferably in faux-leather) just in time for your holiday festivities. Another plus of this outfit? The longer length and weight of the skirt will keep you significantly warmer than your average LBD.

Does anyone feel like this holiday season is just flying by? I thought I was doing a great job getting my gift shopping done early, but now that I'm waiting to receive everything in the mail my nerves have set in! I need everything to hurry up and get here before people start heading home to see their families. Though, I'm actually pretty excited about time moving faster than usual because it means we're closer to our Nashville trip! Time's allowed to slow back down once we arrive there on the 30th, please and thank you.

Because I obviously couldn't end this post without talking about the concert: Adele and I are basically besties now. Or, I feel that way anyway after three hours of listening to her talk about her life in such a beautifully personal fashion. She's hurt before, I've hurt before, we've both overcome our pain and lived to sing about it (me in the car, her on stages around the world). See, besties. We just have so much in common, you know?
