I dare you to look at this outfit and not smile. Sure, you may decide you don't care for this outfit, but I'd be willing to bet that your knee-jerk reaction was a smile. With all these bright colors, it'd be hard not to!

This outfit absolutely makes me smile now, but when I first received these leggings, I was more than a little intimidated. I love a good print, and I've never met a color I didn't like, but these leggings don't quite fit my usual vibe. Classic prints like stripes, polka dots, and gingham are a plenty in my closet and on this blog. Geometric leaves? I wasn't sure they were in my wheelhouse.

My first attempt at styling these was actually a black and white striped tunic. I liked the idea of pattern mixing with a classic print, but keeping things extremely neutral on top. Unfortunately, the shape of the tunic wasn't working with the leggings -- overly clingy and too long, in a way that made my torso unusually lumpy. The sweater I'm wearing here has a similar shape in that it's got long slits up the sides, but is much more boxy and structured. It doesn't cover as much of my upper thigh/rear end as I was initially going for, but I think this sweater hits me in a much more flattering place.

Loud as this outfit is (bright colors! major print! fringe! cat purse!), I expected to feel pretty anxious wearing it out. Instead, I felt like Kate Friggen Hudson, princess of all things athleisure. I'm showing off a decent amount of curvage in my hip and thigh area, but, like, why shouldn't I?

Wear something bold this week. Wear something that makes you smile so much, the people in your home/office/vicinity can't help smiling too. We could all use a few more good vibes, and what better way to pass them around than visual confetti?
